Rodney Stuckey is playing well right now for the Detroit Pistons

24-year old point guard Rodney Stuckey is off to a outstanding start for the Pistons this year. He has started the first three games this year for the Pistons and he is averaging 35.3 minutes, 18.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game. Stuckey really seems to be growing into his role as a point guard as he has been passing the ball a lot more this year and the Pistons offense is a lot better as a whole when he’s doing that. The Pistons hope that Stuckey keeps up the good work.

Richard Hamilton proved last season that he still has some game left for the Detroit Pistons

32-year old SG Richard Hamilton proved last season that he still has something left as he pushed Ben Gordon to the bench when he returned from injury. Hamilton played in 46 games (all starts) for the Pistons last season and he averaged 33.7 minutes, 18.1 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game. He has now played 8 years with the Pistons appearing in 576 games (560 starts) in which he has averaged 35.0 minutes, 18.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. Hamilton is now #10 all-time in Pistons’ history in games played (576), #8 in assists (2,248) and #6 in points scored (10,805). The Pistons will be tempted to trade Hamilton this summer but they should resist unless they get a really good return for him.

Will Ben Wallace return to the Detroit Pistons in 2010-11?

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Steppin Up, Front Page by alleyoop on Friday 28 May 2010 at 7:07 pm

It looked like 35-year old center Ben Wallace enjoyed his return to the Pistons last season which makes me think that he wouldn’t mind coming back for 2010-11 if they want him still. Wallace played in 69 games (67 starts) for the Pistons last season and he averaged 28.6 minutes, 5.5 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.2 blocked shots per game. He has now played in 972 games (852 starts) in which he is averaging 30.7 minutes, 6.2 points, 10.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.1 blocked shots per game. It will be interesting to see if the Pistons want Wallace back next season as they might think about going into a major rebuilding project in which he wouldn’t fit.

Ben Wallace proved this season that he has a little bit left in the tank for the Detroit Pistons

35-year old starting center Ben Wallace has proven this season that he still has something left. He has played in 65 games (63 starts) for the Pistons so far this season and he is averaging 29.0 minutes, 5.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.2 blocked shots per game. Some things never change with Big Ben however as he only is shooting 40.8% from the free throw line with is pathetic. But, he still is making 54.9% of his shots from the floor. I think he will want to return to the Pistons next season. The question is…..Will the Pistons want him back? Only time will tell.

Will Bynum has really stepped up this season for the Detroit Pistons

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Steppin Up, Front Page by alleyoop on Thursday 8 April 2010 at 1:25 pm

When Richard Hamilton went down early this season to injury, Will Bynum took advantage of the situation by playing well. Bynum has played in 59 games (16 starts) for the Pistons this season and he is averaging 26.1 minutes, 9.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. Not many players stepped up for the Pistons this season but Bynum was a standout for them.
