Tayshaun Prince is still being a tad soft for the Detroit Pistons

30-year old forward Tayshaun Prince has been playing well on offense lately. He is shooting 54% from the floor over his last five games and he is averaging 32.4 minutes, 17.0 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. But, he is still softer than a roll of charmin when he comes anywhere near the paint. Prince has now played in 35 games (all starts) for the Pistons so far this year and he is averaging 32.5 minutes, 14.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. Prince continues to be one of the most overrated players in the NBA and he would be really hard to move in a trade as the rest of the league knows that he’s soft.

Tracy McGrady is just a shell of his old self for the Detroit Pistons

I just don’t understand why the Pistons signed 31-year old shooting guard Tracy McGrady in the off-season. He has bad knees and he’s no longer much of a basketball player. McGrady has played in 27 games (1 start) for the Pistons so far this year and he is averaging 17.1 minutes, 4.6 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. T-Mac’s shooting has also been nothing to write home about as he is hitting only 45% from the floor, 35% from three point range and 56.3% from the free throw line. The Pistons have too many shooting guards to continue to give T-Mac P.T.

Will Bynum is the forgotten man of the Detroit Pistons

With Rodney Stuckey, Richard Hamilton and Ben Gordon all healthy, there isn’t much P.T. left for 27-year old Will Bynum. Bynum has played in 17 games (0 starts) for the Pistons so far this year and he is averaging 16.8 minutes, 5.4 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game as he is only shooting 36.2% from the floor. It looks like the lack of P.T. is really hurting Bynum’s game. Bynum played in 63 games (20 starts) for the Pistons last season and he averaged 26.5 minutes, 10.0 points, 2.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. Bynum isn’t going to see his minutes increase unless one of the three guards ahead of him get hurt or traded.

Ben Wallace is still playing hard for the Detroit Pistons

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Need to step up, Front Page by alleyoop on Wednesday 1 December 2010 at 11:05 pm

36-year old center Ben Wallace still gives it everything he has for the Pistons. He has started 18 games for the Pistons so far this year and he is averaging 25.1 minutes, 2.9 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.0 blocked shot per game. Wallace is shooting 49% from the floor but only 28% from the free throw line so far this year. In my opinion I think it’s about time for the Pistons to give the kids more minutes and start phasing out the older guys on the team, like, Ben Wallace.

Tayshaun Prince is what he is for the Detroit Pistons

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Need to step up, Front Page by alleyoop on Thursday 25 November 2010 at 9:19 pm

30-year old forward Tayshaun Prince always seemed a tad overrated to me. Sure, he’s a pretty good defensive player but his contributions on offense are below par for a starting small forward in the NBA. Prince has played in 15 games (all starts) for the Pistons this season and he is averaging 32.3 minutes, 12.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. He has now played in 598 games (559 starts) in his 9 years in the NBA and he is averaging 33.4 minutes, 12.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. The Pistons would be smart to deal Prince this season and give his minutes to some of the younger players on the roster as they are now in a rebuilding mode.
