Austin Daye is starting to fall out of favor with the Detroit Pistons

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Need to step up, Front Page by alleyoop on Saturday 31 March 2012 at 4:54 pm

23-year old small forward Austin Daye is having a lousy season for the Pistons. He has played in 33 games (2 starts) for the Pistons so far this year and he is averaging 14.9 minutes, 4.9 points, 2.3 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game. Daye is only shooting 31.9% from the floor and 21.8% from three point range so far this year and that is pathetic. Daye has now played in 174 games (22 starts) in his first three years with the Pistons and he is averaging 16.4 minutes, 6.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game. Daye needs to step up soon if he wants to have a future with the Pistons.

Brandon Knight has been the only rookie really helping the Detroit Pistons this year

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Rookie Report, Front Page by alleyoop on Saturday 31 March 2012 at 4:52 pm

20-year old point guard Brandon Knight has been really solid this year for the Pistons. He has played in 50 games (45 starts) for the Pistons so far this year and he is averaging 32.6 minutes, 12.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. Knight looks like the second building block in the Pistons of the future along with second year center Greg Monroe. 29-year old “shooting” guard Walker Russell is having a rough first go around in the NBA so far this year. Russell has played in 22 games (0 starts) for the Pistons so far this year and he is averaging 14.5 minutes, 2.7 points, 1.0 rebound and 2.4 assists per game. Russell is only shooting 30% from the floor, 25% from three point range and 60% from the free throw line so far this year and that just won’t get it done. 25-year old power forward Vernon Macklin has been sitting near the end of the bench so far this year. He has played in 19 games (0 starts) for the Pistons so far this year and he is averaging 4.2 minutes, 1.4 points, 0.9 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game.
