The Detroit Pistons sign Tracy McGrady

Blogged under General, Comings & Goings, Bloglockers, Big Pistons News, Front Page by alleyoop on Tuesday 10 August 2010 at 10:17 am

The Pistons have signed 31-year old SG Tracy McGrady to a 1-year, $1.3 million dollar deal. T-Mac played in 30 games (24 starts) for the Rockets & Knicks last season in which he averaged 22.4 minutes, 8.2 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. Tracy McGrady has now played in 814 games (664 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 34.6 minutes, 21.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game. I’m not too sure how McGrady will fit in with the Pistons who have Richard Hamilton and Ben Gordon ahead of him at shooting guard.

Can’t be worse than the AI deal. Atleast we didn’t have to give anything up.

I agree with you Stephen. I just don’t see what the point in signing him was because I just don’t see him playing much at all as the Pistons have a few guys ahead of him at both SG and SF.
