23-year old power forward Jonas Jerebko made the biggest impact for the Pistons out of the draft picks this year. He played in 80 games (73 starts) for the Pistons this season and he averaged 27.9 minutes, 9.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game. He could be a starter for a long time on for the Pistons. 21-year old small forward Austin Daye also showed some potential for the Pistons despite his thin frame. He played in 69 games (4 starts) for the Pistons this season and he averaged 13.3 minutes, 5.1 points, 2.5 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game. He could also be a starter down the road for the Pistons. 22-year old forward DaJuan Summers looks like backup material. He played in 44 games (0 starts) for the Pistons last season and he averaged 9.2 minutes, 3.0 points, 1.0 rebound and 0.4 assists per game. The Pistons hope they will bring in a similar load of talent in this year’s NBA Draft.

The Pistons outscored the T-Wolves 35-19 in the fourth quarter last night as they seemed to want the game more. Tayshaun Prince led the way for the Pistons last night with 20 points, 1 rebound and 3 assists. Charlie Villanueva pitched in with 16 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocked shots last night. The rookies of the Pistons all really played well last night. Austin Daye got a start last night and he finished up with 12 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals in 30 minutes on the court. Jonas Jerebko also had a outstanding game with 12 points, 13 rebounds and 3 steals in 44 minutes on the court. The Pistons didn’t play and D last night as the Raptors shot 60% from the floor and had an amazing 37 assists. Ben Gordon led the way for the Pistons last night with 24 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. It’s too bad he didn’t start playing like that a little earlier this year. Tayshaun Prince also had a decent game with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Charlie Villanueva pitched in with 16 points and 6 rebounds in only 24 minutes on the court. Will Bynum got a rare start scoring 12 points, grabbing 3 rebounds and dishing out 8 assists in 39 minutes on the court. The Pistons are now 26-55 on the season.

Ben Wallace proved this season that he has a little bit left in the tank for the Detroit Pistons

35-year old starting center Ben Wallace has proven this season that he still has something left. He has played in 65 games (63 starts) for the Pistons so far this season and he is averaging 29.0 minutes, 5.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.2 blocked shots per game. Some things never change with Big Ben however as he only is shooting 40.8% from the free throw line with is pathetic. But, he still is making 54.9% of his shots from the floor. I think he will want to return to the Pistons next season. The question is…..Will the Pistons want him back? Only time will tell.

Will Bynum has really stepped up this season for the Detroit Pistons

When Richard Hamilton went down early this season to injury, Will Bynum took advantage of the situation by playing well. Bynum has played in 59 games (16 starts) for the Pistons this season and he is averaging 26.1 minutes, 9.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. Not many players stepped up for the Pistons this season but Bynum was a standout for them.
