The Detroit Pistons sign F/C Kwame Brown

The Pistons have signed 26-year old power forward/center Kwame Brown to a 2-year, $8 million dollar contract. Brown will likely be working off the bench for the Pistons behind Antonio McDyess and Rasheed Wallace assuming that both of them remain Pistons. Brown is a big guy at 6′11″, 270 pounds but he always looks better than he is. Maybe the Pistons can get his NBA career kick started. Brown played in 38 games (15 starts) with the Lakers and Grizzlies last season and he averaged 18.8 minutes, 4.8 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. Brown is pretty much just a banger down low on offense so don’t expect big numbers out of him in 2008-09. Brown has now played in 404 games (186 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 23.7 minutes, 7.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. It will be interesting to see if the light over Brown’s head finally shines or not.
