Jason Maxiell is pushing for more playing time on the Detroit Pistons
Jason Maxiell is backing up Antonio McDyess for right now but he’s been very impressive so far this season and he might push McDyess to the bench at some point this season. Maxiell has played in 16 games so far this season and he’s averaging 23.3 minutes, 8.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.7 blocks per game. He’s also hitting 52.1% of his shots from the floor but most of them are close to the basket. Still, Maxiell is one of the more physical power forwards in the NBA and he deserves to play more than he is right now.

Jason Maxiell will be a starter one day, but as of now, he provides great energy coming off the bench, which is what the Pistons need. Besides, when Jason Maxiell filled in for Antonio McDyess, he got into early foul trouble and had to sit. On the other hand, I think Antonio McDyess had a better start as a starter this season, than he did coming off the bench last season. So I like the team the way it is for now.

You have good points. After all, the Pistons are 14-6 so far this season and are in first place in the division so there’s no need to change things right now.
