The rookies on the Detroit Pistons aren’t doing much this season

The Pistons have high hopes for guards Rodney Stuckey and Arron Afflalo but they haven’t played very much this season. Stuckey was the player the Pistons really had high hopes for but he has been injured most of the season. He has only played in 3 games this season and he’s averaging 9.7 minutes, 3.0 points, 1.0 rebound and 2.0 assists per game because he’s only shooting 28.6% from the floor. Arron Afflalo has played decent in his limited time on the basketball court. Afflalo has played in 26 games this season and he is averaging 12.5 minutes, 3.8 points, 1.7 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game. He has shot pretty well as a rookie so far as he has made 46.2% of his shots from the floor and 89.3% of his free throws. Center Cheick Samb has played in 2 games for the Pistons this season and he’s averaging 10.0 minutes, 1.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 block per game.

Lindsay Hunter needs to pick it up for the Detroit Pistons

Blogged under Bloglockers, Need to step up, Front Page by alleyoop on Tuesday 11 December 2007 at 6:23 pm

Lindsay Hunter better pick up his play soon or he will be sitting at the end of the bench for the Pistons. Hunter has played in 6 games this month for the Pistons and he’s averaging 7.5 minutes, 2.3 points, 0.5 assists and 1.8 steals per game. Hunter appears to be getting phased out by the younger players on the Pistons and that’s probably a good thing.

The Detroit Pistons are flying high so far this season

Blogged under Bloglockers, Game Recaps, Front Page by alleyoop on Tuesday 11 December 2007 at 6:15 pm

The Pistons are doing a great job so far this season as they are in first place in the Central Division with a 14-6 record which has them 4 games ahead of the Pacers. The Pistons have a good mix of offense and defense this season as they are averaging 100.2 points per game and they are only allowing 91.9 points per game. The Pistons need to keep the pedal to the metal to keep up with the Orlando Magic and the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference.

Jason Maxiell is pushing for more playing time on the Detroit Pistons

Blogged under Bloglockers, Steppin Up, Front Page by alleyoop on Tuesday 4 December 2007 at 5:22 pm

Jason Maxiell is backing up Antonio McDyess for right now but he’s been very impressive so far this season and he might push McDyess to the bench at some point this season. Maxiell has played in 16 games so far this season and he’s averaging 23.3 minutes, 8.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.7 blocks per game. He’s also hitting 52.1% of his shots from the floor but most of them are close to the basket. Still, Maxiell is one of the more physical power forwards in the NBA and he deserves to play more than he is right now.
