Lindsey Hunter needs to step up

Blogged under Bloglockers, Need to step up, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 13 February 2007 at 4:16 pm

The Pistons really could use Lindsey Hunter to step up off the bench for them.  With Flip Murray struggling also the Pistons offense really slows when Billups and Hamilton are on the bench.  Hunter has averaged only 13.6 minutes per game this season, but he hasn’t earned any more playing time than that.  Hunter is only shooting 35.5% from the floor this season and he’s averaging 3.9 points and 1.5 assists per game.  He still is playing good defense when he’s on the floor, but the Pistons need him to add to the offense too or they can’t play him.

The Pistons turned into the Bad Boys last night as they really played tough on defense as they held the Clippers to 32.4% shooting from the floor.  Chris Webber led the way for the Pistons with 19 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.  Richard Hamilton scored 15 points, grabbed 3 rebounds and dished out 5 assists.

The Pistons improved to 32-18 on the season with this win.  http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270212008

Chauncey Billups is the guy that makes the Pistons fire on all cylinders

Blogged under Bloglockers, Steppin Up, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Friday 9 February 2007 at 10:20 am

Chauncey Billups has really been a great player for the Pistons.  He’s a good shooter and he runs the offense well from the point guard position often getting the ball to the right guy.  He’s averaging 18.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 7.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game this season.  He’s also shot very well as he’s hitting 43.8% from the floor, 39.2% from three point range and 88.5% from the free throw line.  His three point shooting ability often spreads out the opponents defense opening the paint for other Pistons.  Billups is the player that the Pistons would miss the most if he were injured and it showed when he missed a few games earlier this season.
