The Pistons gave it everything they got tonight, but it wasn’t good enough to beat the Wizards.  Chauncey Billups led the way for the Pistons with 24 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists.  Tayshaun Prince also had a solid game with 19 points and 5 rebounds.  Rasheed Wallace had a good all-around game with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists.

The Pistons will only go as far as their starters take them

The Pistons will depend on their starting five to take them where they want to go because their bench hasn’t done much.  The Pistons currently are in first place in the Central Division of the Eastern Conference and are currently #2 in the whole conference, only a 1/2 game behind the Washington Wizards.  Richard Hamilton is leading the way for the Pistons as he’s averaging 22.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game this season.  Chauncey Billups’ health is the key to the Pistons season, when he missed time recently the Pistons didn’t play too well.  He is the leader on the offense as he’s averaging 17.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game this season.  Tayshaun Prince is playing the best basketball of his career and he picked a great time to do it because the Pistons have had some trouble scoring this season.  He’s averaging 15.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game.  Rasheed Wallace has been playing a little closer to the basket due to Ben Wallace leaving.  He’s only averaging 12.4 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.  The Pistons need more offense out of Wallace in the second half of the season.  Recently signed Chris Webber has played well so far for the Pistons and they need him to keep that up.

The Pistons had a bad shooting night, hitting only 37% from the floor…but it didn’t matter last night.  Richard Hamilton led the way for the Pistons with 21 points and 3 rebounds.  Rasheed Wallace also had a solid game with 20 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals and 5 blocked shots.  Chris Webber was tough around the basket with 17 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocked shots.  Chauncey Billups did a good job of running the offense with 17 points and 6 assists.
